Is it Caturday already?
Last night I sunk my teeth into a cheeseburger, a glass of wine (or 3 – but who’s counting?) and a great read by F.X. Scully – Two Thousand 3: A Comatose Memoir
What a great and unique read from F.X. Scully! I was entranced and wondering where Reese would take me next through her journey down memory lane.
With a strong friend Ronnie, and independence as her backbone, she is pulled out for a night intended to wash away her sorrows of a cheating fiance until she is forced to face her feelings in a shadowy corner with a man that she thought was supposed to stay in the past. As anger and fear collides she is forced to run and as the night air hits her, so does a car.
She wakes in the midst of an entrancing and relatable past filled with utter confusion and ultimate pleasure. Resse is able to rejoice and suffer through her memories of the men that now hold the title of “ex.” Learning from those mistakes and growing with the consequences, she is able to finally find her happy ever after.
I smiled and laughed, frowned and felt sorrow for Reese and her sometimes torturous reminiscence. A great read with a unique spin on a story.
F.X Scully spends her days advising men in tights. She loves turtles, romance and things of the past. In the evenings, she writes smut and drama for those who love it and those who pretend they don’t. Her free time is spent taking walks in the rain, scouring thrift shops for classic pieces and sipping vintage wine.
But she has a flip side.
Though she considers them sexy, she rarely wears heels (ow!) and on most Saturdays, she can be found enjoying a pitcher of beer with friends, devouring deep dish pizza and watching college basketball…or CFL…or NFL…basically whatever’s on at that given time.
Sundays are her reading days so shhhh…DND!
