This New Adult contemporary romance is intended for readers over the age of 18 due to adult language, sexual content and adult situations.
Brenna Aubrey has left me hanging… and seriously contemplating the idea of taking up gaming. Again.
In the second book of the Gaming The System Series, Mia and Adam continue their romance from the first novel – through some serious bumps along the rough road of love, Aubrey was yet again able to combine the geekery of the gaming world and a hot steamy romance in a seamless story.
I loved and found very refreshing the fact that this novel was from Adam’s point of view! I found some parts of the novel slow building but I loved the fact that Aubrey still kept Mia and Adam’s friends in the spotlight as we got to know them further. There were definitely some heart-wrenching, teary moments that contrasted nicely with Mia’s maintained strong heroine character as she continues to battle against Adam’s control and her own surprising battles.
And the cliffhanger, to put it mildly, is of course cruel and unusual punishment in its best form, leaving me impatiently tapping my fingers until I can get my hands on the next book.
